I am giving you some of my personal information. Is it
possible that it will be used to steal my identity or abused in any other way?
All the personal information that we receive from you is a copy of your driver's
license. Since you can put anything in the notarized paper, no one can really use it.
All the information on your driver's license is public, and any PI can get it from your
state records. We don't ask you for your Social Security or mother's maiden name, so,
it's not enough to apply for credit.
Compare it with questions other AVS providers ask. In addition to your name and mailing
address, it's your e-mail and credit card number with expiration date and verification
code. Although I don't know of AVS that would take advantage of it, this information is
sufficient to get Drivers License info or to post unauthorized charge.
According to the Service Agreement, if my payment is lost
or stolen, it's my loss, and I have no recourse. I am afraid you might pocket my payment
and don't deliver services.
What do you risk with? Just one payment of the amount that you control. It could be
made $20 or even $13, less than monthly payment to other AVS providers. After we
receive your initial payment, you will be able to check your access and make sure our
business is not a scam.
You can inquire Better Business Bureau or Federal Trade Commission about us.
If you are really afraid to lose your money, wait for a couple of months to make sure
we are still there, and we were not shut down by authorities.
One more option for you would be to "probe" us with purchase of our Encryption Software, which costs just $5.00, and wait to make
sure it's delivered. You can do it without disclosing any of your personal information.
